Lunar Eclipse in Pisces: A Time for Letting Go

The last eclipse of the year falls in Pisces. Eclipses rarely begin things — they finish what was already ending. What does this one actually touch in your chart?

Eclipses are among the most misread events in astrology. Most people treat them as omens of disaster, when an eclipse is not a door but a threshold. You had already left the door ajar for months; the eclipse simply lets the wind in.

On 28 August a lunar eclipse falls at 4 degrees of Pisces. Lunar eclipses are full moons with the volume turned up: whatever a full moon makes visible, an eclipse makes visible in a way you cannot unsee.

What does Pisces bring to this eclipse?

Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac — the sign of endings, of dissolving, of boundaries thinning. An eclipse here means whatever needed to end will now fall under its own weight.

In practice that looks like:

  • A relationship you have been "holding on a little longer"
  • A job or partnership you could not bring yourself to close
  • A story you tell about yourself that is no longer true
  • A family burden you carry without noticing

This eclipse promises no rose garden. It clears the path so we can walk it after removing our own thorns.

Where does it land in your chart?

This is where general horoscopes end and the individual chart begins. Four degrees of Pisces falls in a different house for every person, and the subject of the eclipse is the subject of that house.

In your second house it is money and self-worth; in the seventh, partnership; in the tenth, career visibility. The same sky, entirely different stories.

Without your birth time this calculation cannot be made — which is why the birth time is the first thing I ask for.

What should you do?

Avoiding major decisions during eclipse days is standard advice, and there is truth in it: clarity genuinely drops around an eclipse. But "do nothing" is not right either.

The healthiest thing you can do is observe. This eclipse will keep unfolding over the next six months. Take notes now: which subject surfaced, who called, which conversation suddenly became possible.

When you return to those notes six months from now, what the eclipse was telling you will be far clearer.
